Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS) refers to a surgery or combination of surgeries that are aimed at softening facial features. As our faces all have different shapes and our eyes have different aesthetic ideals, there is a wide variability in the surgeries that are done. Feminizing surgery is more artistically, aesthetically, and technically more demanding than other facial cosmetic surgeries, as surgical plans have to be guided by patient goals and expectations more intimately than with other procedures. Though many patients that seek FFS are transgender (particularly trans-female) individuals, there are many cisgender people that seek it as well.

The surgeries offered as components of facial feminizing surgery are:
• Hairline lowering (or raising)

• Eyelid lift (blepharoplasty)
• Rhinoplasty
• Facelift

• Mandibular (Jaw) contouring

• Dermal Fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse lines)
• Neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin)

All of the surgeries above are performed on cisgender individuals as well, though the goals of the surgery may differ. For example, a typical rhinoplasty may address a hump on the profile of the nose, while a feminizing rhinoplasty will focus on increasing the rotation of the nose to give a more feminine look. Similarly, a feminizing brow lift focuses on giving the eyebrows a feminine arch rather than raising the whole eyebrow up equally.
